----UPDATED----
And, can I just say (of course I can, it's my blog) that I used to be of the mindset that abortions should be illegal unless it is of great risk to the mother or unless the mother was raped. My thinking has changed.
As for great risk to the mother, click here to read an amazing story. As far as rape is concerned...why do we think that God is not in control when horrible things happen? We MUST place our faith in Him in the good and the bad. Who are we to decide if a baby, conceived out of rape, is allowed to live a life that God created? If such is the case, then Psalm 139:13-16 is a lie:
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
(emphasis added)
you knit me together in my mother's womb.

Do those words suggest that because of a horrible crime, a baby's life was not ordained?
ugghhh makes my stomach turn and my blood boil. How on earth does this man think that "just because his daughters make a mistake that they should not be PUNISHED for their mistakes!!!" WHAT IS THAT!!!
ReplyDeletePUNISHED...PUNISHED! No but they should lie in the bed they make! there is no punishment, just consequences with God!
Oh let me alone with this man for one hour. Strike that... I don't want to see him. GOD calls me to love my neighbor/ brother; but is this man really my neighbor (if he were my brother I'd ......
X,Y, AND Z)! I would kill him in my mind with my hatred and disgust and that is a bad thing. It is still considered sin none the less. Wow that is such a fine line!
Thanks for sharing... I posted it on my blog too. Might as well reach as many people as possible. See you tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteGod gave human beings CHOICE.
ReplyDeleteWhether we opt for right or wrong, we're given the CHOICE.
Why should the government be allowed to take away that CHOICE of a pregnant woman?
You may be a great foster mom. But some kids don't get good homes like the kids you've taken in.
For some babies, being aborted would mean going to be with their Heavenly Father. Otherwise, they would grow up in a hell of sorts in their homes, where they weren't wanted, where they are abused, and where they never hear that there's a God who loves them.
Which is really the worse fate?
Thanks for posting this. I found your blog through CF Husband. I've now added that clip to my site.
ReplyDeleteYou know the scary thing is how many people vote and don't even know what , or whom, they're voting for.
We need to really pray over the next several days and beyond.
anonymous,
ReplyDeletehow would we ever know what that baby would be if they are never even given the chance to LIVE??
and if given up for adoption- which the parent has the CHOICE of doing- the child can be adopted by someone who WANTS them, thus avoiding the "hell of sorts" you speak of.

That's an interesting point! You'd think that since we were given the gift of life, we would want to extend that gift to EVERYONE, including unborn babies.
I like babies. I say we let them live.
To anyone who is pro choice:
ReplyDeleteGod decides when he is ready for a life to come to him whether in salvation or death. It is not ours. We do not belong to ourselves but to Him, Creator. He sets a child's future in to motion. Our choice to keep life does not ordain one's days to be miserable because the home is unfit. Every aspect of a child's life is in God's control. It doesn't take our belief, or lack of, in God's protection and blessing for it to exist. Yet, it does take our faith to experience it. The choice that God has given us is to obey or disobey Him. Believe or not believe. God's standards do not change with each issue. His word promotes life. Even moreso, it promotes His will in one's life and the complete surrender of one's will to His. If we choose something that is contradictory to His word, we have not surrendered to it. I pray that everyone would surrender to Him fully, in every issue, political or not. And I believe that God does not intend for us to bear this load. We don't have to make choices. We just say yes to the choices He has already made. And I know He has chosen life. He is life.

ReplyDelete"Which is really the worse fate?"
The Bible speaks of Judas as "it is better to have never been born" because of the choices he made and the suffering it brought him...not because of the parents he had. Your argument is alarming. Is a woman supposed to predict if someone good will care for her unborn child in her absence? If she predicts not, then she should take that child's fate into her own hands? Then you recognize a Heavenly Father? What is God if He isn't sovereign? There is no fate. There is foreknowledge, but not fate. We do have choices. We can choose to act on God's behalf...but I don't recommend it.
You caused quite a stir with this one Jess... :-) Good job...way to get people thinking.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know God gave us a choice of when to end life? Hum..interesting. Perhaps I missed that small little tidbit in His book? GEEZE!
I'm tempted to get on quite the soapbox here...but I'm refraining. Its too early in the morning for that :-)
I'm with GK...I think babies are pretty stinking amazing...I say let em live.
AMEN Sister!! It just burns me up that Christians will vote for their party regardless of the real issues. As someone who has lost 2 babies to miscarriage, I cannot fathom how anyone could kill (yes it is murder) an unborn child. The political guru's have sugar-coated it. But listen carefully--IT IS MURDER!! There are people out there who cannot have children and would love for someone to give them their child. There are other options.
