Y'all, it snowed here again last night. Granted, it was just a "dusting" and as I sit here during naptime it's all melted away but still MORE SNOW.
Now, before you Northerners begin your comments of "Oh! We get 25 inches of snow per day and it's negative 80 degrees and I wear flip flops" let me just say,
SOUTHERNERS ARE FREAKS IN THE COLD.
I'll admit we ridiculously panic when the weather person calls for 2-3 inches of snow. With the forecast of snow looming over us, there's not a crumb of bread or drop of milk left on any shelf within a 40 mile radius of the television's broadcasting area. Schools have closed because of supposed inclement weather. I'm not even kidding.
I'm telling ya, folks. The quickest, most effective way to blow a southerners mind is to say the words freezing and rain in the same sentence as accumulation.
So today, when my Aunt posted a link to this video on facebook, I just about lost it. This lady is HYSTERICAL. Take 5 minutes and watch this.
My favorites:
"We don't know what's going on. What I do know that's going on is, THIS AIN'T COOL."
"If I was gonna deal with this kind of weather here, I coulda just moved to DC and been closer to the Obamas."
"TWO HOURS OF DUMB" - y'all, I lost it. That's hilarious.
"The Freedom Academy over in, uh, wherever it is over there in Atlanta, Georgia."
"Make sure you dressin' your babies appropriate for the weather, I don't wanna see no problems, then there won't be no problems. You understand what I'm sayin'?"
In other news....
"Stay off the crack pipe SIR!"
And, I'd like to close with my new favorite letter/blog/email closing:
"I love ya long and I love ya strong but please, don't be stupid."

Black Friday!
Okay y'all. I'm NOT a crazy Black Friday shopper. At least not in a physical store. But this is too good of a deal to not share.
At Kodakgallery.com you can get 1 package (a set of 10) of FREE 5x7 Holiday Cards. Use the online coupon code (FREE10CARDS) once you've got them in your cart.
Also, they are having a great deal on their PhotoBooks. I ordered one for my Maw last year and I LOVED IT. Right now you can add as many pages as you want for no extra cost! (Typically after 20 pages it's $0.60/page...I think). Y'all that's fabulous. And you use 20 pages faster than you'd think.
Also, if you purchase more than $40 in products they pay the shipping! (You must use the coupon code SHIP40.) (Yes, you can use more than 1 coupon code!)
Finally, they have some other great deals on Notecards and Magnets. I'm telling you, if you like to give photo gifts you've got to go to Kodakgallery.com. But I think this all expires on 11/28/10 so hurry!
**I'm not getting compensated for telling you this, I just like to share great deals!**
Go. Now. I mean, if you want.
Yay for bargains!

10 Most Random Monday Ever
I don't really have a cohesive way to tie these thoughts together. So I thought a little list might do you good. And, for some reason, I feel the need to get these things out in the open.
1) The "As Seen On TV" section of Walgreens fascinates me. I could stand there for quite some time, taking in all the things that people have thought up to make life "easier." Some are interesting, while others do, in fact, make our lives and bathroom a lot cleaner.
Yes, I bought a Touch-N-Brush. Yes, it works. Yes, there is still toothpaste all inside our sink. But it's no longer on the counters and floor, which I consider a step up for us.
No, I will not photograph it because that would require me cleaning off the mirror and counter tops.
2) I purchased a Neti-pot. Here is proof of my purchase, if you need it:

In the not-so-distant past I claimed that this was the most hysterical thing I'd ever seen. I am officially recanting my less than uplifting statements in regards to the Neti Pot.
However, I continue to claim that it baffles me that water can run through my sinus cavities and pour out of my nostril. More importantly though, I must confess that it FRIGGIN' ROCKS and I will be a Neti Potter for life.
After getting a Z-pack from my midwife, I went to Walgreens, turned in my prescription, found a Neti Pot and stood in the "As Seen On TV" section until my prescription was ready.
After a couple of uses the Neti Pot flushed out ALL OF THE INFECTION in my sinuses before I finished my Z Pack. By day 5 I was feelin' good.
Miracle worker, I tell ya. Mir-a-cle.
And now, for a formal apology to someone very special...
Dear Chris Thompson,
I formally apologize to you for ever dissing the Neti Pot. I see now that you are a man of great wisdom and hair. Please accept this formal apology for what it is worth. And, I will cook you and the Mrs. a dinner really soon. If you can pencil us into your busy schedule. And if I have not delivered a baby by then. And if I am not attending a Neti Pots anonymous meeting.
Sincerely,
Me.
3) We have tentatively decided on a boy name. No, I will not tell you. You can continue to wait for 6 more weeks. However, I asked Luke if we were sure about this name and his response was, "Yes. For now."
I guess that means we are as sure as we cannot be.
If that last sentence makes sense to you, will you explain it to me?
4) Luke and I made another major purchase this weekend, WITHOUT going into debt. It is similar to this purchase we made just over a year ago. And, I can't wait to fill you in on the details later this week.
Be prepared people. When we go BIG we go BIG.
5) 6 more weeks til this baby is due, yet everyone I know thinks I won't make it a full 6 weeks. Most people said the same thing with the twins, yet I was induced at 38 weeks (which is considered 40 weeks with twins).
Who gets induced with twins?
Apparently, I do.
6) I saw some puppy training pads at Walgreens during my visit the other day. I'm wondering if I should get some to potty train Aaron. He poops 7-9 times a day and I really don't want to deal with that in underwear. What do y'all think?
7) I am amazed that a Neti pot cost $8.99 and yet an enema only $2.99. Aren't they basically the same thing?
8) I bought an exercise ball to sit on to relieve the pressure from my back and hips. If you come to my house and I answer the door sitting on a large, plastic ball. Pay me no mind, pay me no mind. It's heavenly I tell you. Like sitting on a large, plastic cloud.
9) Baby Girl's adoption will not be done before Feb 1st. Which bums me out, but I am trusting in God's perfect timing. The 10 day waiting period will begin when the social worker delivers one last piece of paperwork to our house.
10) I have somewhat re-entered the world of Twitter. But, I don't feel it deserves a spot on the blog until closer to time when the baby comes (which is the purpose for me re-entering the world of twitter). If you'd like to see my Tweets you can go here.
And now I feel really dirty for asking "if you'd like to see my Tweets" so I'm gonna stop now.
Happy Monday y'all.

Five For Friday
I have no topic for today's five....
1. Lucas' new word is
"Whhhhyyyyyyyy?"
When my father in law and his wife (Luke's step mom) were in town last weekend, she got me onto saying
"Why not?" in response.
Now his new alternative response is
"Beeeccaaaauuuuuse!!" (because)
2. Tonight we are hosting a middle school girls lock in. That's right, 15 or so middle school girls in our basement. Wanna know the craziest part? I'm excited!
3. Baby D is sleeping pretty much through the night. The last FOUR nights he's slept 6 hour stretches. Yay! Why am I more tired?
4. My husband made a bet with me, which I won and he gave me $500. (Yes, you read that right.) However, because he's brainwashed me with Dave Ramsey I cannot spend it. Okay, maybe I'll spend a little, but I can't bring myself to spend it all.
Yes, I'm serious.
5. I never thought I'd actually make new friends by blogging. But, I've found that friendships have become stronger and I've actually "met" a few new people. As long as they promise not to be axe murderers, I think I'll be okay!
Happy Friday! Have a supremely blessed weekend!

Because I'm a Mother
10 Random things I know, only because I'm a mother:
1. A newborn can shoot poop almost 5 feet.
2. Missing afternoon naps means bedtime will be a NIGHTMARE.
3. Hot dog and milk vomit is, by far, the smelliest of all the vomits.
4. Love can be unconditional.
5. Not dish soap or bath soap or even Equate brand shower gel can kill the smell of poop that has been smeared in a 2 yr olds hair, on her face, or all over her hands. Vinegar works nicely.
6. Slobbery kisses are the best kisses.
7. Toddlers rationalize things way differently than adults do. For example, it is completely logical to play in your own poop two times in the same day.
8. A 4 year old can understand faith and the power of prayer. This week, we prayed for the children of Africa, our Bubbie and Sissy, our Baby D and Frogs (all in the same night).
9. There is nothing in the world like skinny little arms wrapped around your neck.
10. The sitting area at the mall will suffice when a playground cannot be found. It's amazing how much fun you can have on sofas and chairs that are not in our house and have no rules.

1,000 Thoughts
It's been a crazy week. I have so many thoughts rolling around in my mind. It almost feels like that game you get at the dollar store, where there are several little marbles inside the little plastic case, and the goal is to get them to all land securely in their little holes. For some reason, my thoughts cannot be settled. We'd have busy schedules these past few weeks, but for some reason, even during down time my mind cannot be still. I need to do several days worth of my Bible study, which I know is not a good thing to cram several days into one.
I went to a homeschool convention on Thursday and Friday (and was too overloaded to go back on Saturday). I've been thinking about the curriculum I bought and I am excited to begin showing Elizabeth (and the twins) the world so that they might fall in love with learning.
Our foster care license should be processed soon, which means that any time now we could get the call. I am already praying for the children that will come into our home and that I might have discernment for their situation.
Lucas and Ashlee will be 2 years old on Friday. I can hardly believe it! Luke and I were looking at some pictures a few weeks ago, and it really seems like it's only been a few months ago that we brought them home from the hospital. Lately, when I look at them, I see little kids rather than my babies and it makes me sad.
There are some family situations that I am worried about. I know that a lot of people close to me are hurting, and it's challenging to be uplifting when I feel the weight of their sorrows on my shoulders. With each revelation of pain, I feel physical weight being laid on me. I know I need to pray and lay it at God's feet, but for some reason I'm struggling with that. Am I doubting His ability to work miracles or the willingness of the people in my life to change? I'm not sure.
Those are just a few of the thousand thoughts running through my mind. Sorry to be Debbie Downer. Sometimes you just gotta lay it all out, so you can walk away and give your mind time to breathe.
