So, I did it. I ran this evening after Luke got home and we had dinner. I can't believe I actually went. Yes, it was raining, but if I look for excuses I will find them everywhere. Like I told Luke, if I'm really gonna do this, I have to start today.
Lindsey, I don't think I'd make much of a running partner seeing as how I only ran about 40% of the time. Plus, you want to carry on a conversation? Yeah, right.
Thanks for the encouragement, from everyone. I appreciate it. We'll see how long this lasts.
I'm proud of you!
ReplyDeleteHa! I love it... I am so with you on the talking while running thing. I'd have these marines that like just got back from boot camp running PT with when I got into the police department. They'd be asking me about my family and all while I was gasping for every piece of oxygen my lungs could possible handle. I'd like... fake a trip, or run off into the woods like I had to pee or something... just so they would go on!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Keep it up...let me know if you need some encouragement--I'm a pretty good "encourager"
ReplyDeleteI'd still love to run with you sometime...I can always get my milage for the day in the morning
Here's the link to the running blog I mentioned earlier so that you don't have to search for it

WAHOO! GO YOU! I'm so excited for you! You'll hurt tomorrow but just go out again and take it easy and warm up and keep at it! Yay for running! You can think of me at 8:00 your time. I run at 5 AM my time with a close friend of mine.
ReplyDeleteOH MY WORD GIRL! This comes from Joy and I. WE ARE SO PROUD!! You have encouraged us to go running this morning!!! We run for a purpose and we will run for you (pray for you)!! I figure if we can run 6 miles at an altitude of 5,000 ft- we can run a half to a whole marathon by the time we get down to sea level. :) We'll be gasping at the end of a half mile at first though.
ReplyDeleteLinds will be a good encourager. I never did get to run with her like we'd planned, but I'm not so sure I'd want to now. That chick is hard core!
Love you!
Yayaya good job friend you keep runnin forest.

I'm the same way. Some people fear public speaking - sweats, shakes, dry-heaves, everything - we seem to feel that way about running. My personal opinion is that growing up it was almost always used as punishment during sports and so I developed a natural aversion to it. Luckily enough there's a bunch of volleyball people over here and they play all the time so I can do that instead!!
