Court Today

Baby D's case was moved to next Monday, December 22nd. The judge just-so-happens to be married to birth mom's attorney. It was a conflict of interest. It bugs me because birth mom didn't show up in court today because she is tired from working 3rd shift. GRRRRRR!

BUT, that means that a different, less DSS hating judge, will be on the stand next week to hear Baby D's case. I smile because I know that God is in control, regardless of next week's ruling (which could still not be in our favor).

Please continue to pray for our friends, as their little boy's case will (hopefully) be heard today. There is more at stake with him. Luke and I wanted, so badly, to stay and be a support for them. But with it being the holidays and everyone in Luke's office being out, he really needed to go in to work today, especially since he'll still be taking off on Thursday for Baby Girl's case and then again next Monday.

Thanks for all the prayers. You are such a blessing!

  2. HA! Now I know why it is rescheduled! I cannot believe that! that is CRAZY! God is so humorous sometimes it kills me. He just so knew that this was how it was all going to play out! Unbelievable.

    Still praying!

  3. So glad to hear that! (You would have thought that would have been something they knew before the day of court though, wouldn't you??) The system is ridiculous. Still praying for both you and Beth/Noah.

  4. God is good! I hope everything goes well. We have had some tough experiences in family court also. It always amazed me just how disorganized it can all be. We ran a theraputic group home for 6 months and spent a lot of time in court between the 8 girls we had.

  5. So my question is how the heck did it get THAT far before they decided it was a conflict of interest. I mean, come on. And who spoke up? The attorney? The judge? Yeah right! Pft!!

  6. Jessica,

You are such an inspiration to me. Having a little one that just turned three and twins that just turned one, and having the same heart that leaps with joy mothering children, you are where I could see the Lord leading me a few years from now. My favorite verse is Isaiah 48:11 and I find so much comfort (I tend to be a worrier by nature) knowing that everything is for God's glory. He allowed your precious baby D to be convieved, born, and placed into your wonderful family and He will continue to unravel this incredible story to glorify Himself. God knows how many kisses you've given, how your voice has soothed this precious child, how many diapers you've changed and bottles fed, how you protect, nurture and love this baby boy. He knows it all. Rest and take comfort knowing that God's will and timing are perfect. I will be praying for you and your sweet family.
